Established in 1971, the Bureau of Immigration (BoI) operates under
the leadership of Commissioner of Immigration. BoI is the primary
authority responsible for enforcing the latest rules and regulations
governing the entry, stay and exit of foreign nationals in India.
Through the network of FRROs and CHIOs, BoI manages immigration
facilities across India’s International Check Posts (ICPs).
BoI ensures smooth, secure and efficient immigration process for
travelers arriving in or departing from India. BoI also oversees
registration services and visa- related formalities for foreign
nationals residing in India in accordance with relevant Acts, Rules and
Regulations.
